Bill Watters: Co-Owner

Bill grew up in Rome, Georgia where he developed a passion for cattle and the outdoors. He graduated from the University of Georgia where his passion for the farming and cattle industry matured.  He majored in Agricultural Engineering and worked at the University of Georgia Beef Cattle Operations. Due to the death of his father at an early age, Bill had to go into the family business of Intergrated Products.  After 7 years Bill started another business on the side called Syntec Industries.  Syntec is now one of the premier suppliers of products in the Marine, RV, Multifamily, Manufacturing Housing, UTV’s, and Semi Trucks.

In 1983 he and Judy bought an 1847 antebellum house and later the surrounding farm land of Oakdale Farms.  In 1993 they began commercial cattle farming. Today, Oakdale Farms is one of the premier 300 head registered angus herds in North Georgia. Bill is a Master Cattleman, Quality Beef Assured, Chairman of NMMA, Past Chairman of MACD, and has received numerous other awards. His passion for loving the land and producing top of the line cattle continues each and every day.

 

Judy Watters: Co-Owner

Judy grew up on a Dairy Farm in Calhoun, GA.  As a child growing up on a farm, she learned all phases of the cattle industry.  She graduated the University of Georgia with a major in Agricultural Economics.  Following college she worked for Eli Lilly under the Agricultural Chemical Division as a sales representative for Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee.

After the marriage to Bill Watters, they started Oakdale Farms.  Judy is a Master Gardner, Master Cattleman, is certified by Quality Beef Assured, and an avid gardener and vegetable producer.

 

Tyler Will: Herdsman

Tyler grew up in Cartersville, Georgia but now lives in Rome, GA.  He graduated from Berry College with a degree in Business and an emphasis in Animal Science, while also working at the Dairy on campus. He completed further education at the Graham School for Cattlemen in Garnett, Kansas.  Tyler worked for Dr. Todd Bickett at Bickett Genetics in Chickamauga, Georgia as an embryo transfer technician and joined Oakdale Farms in 2017. 

 

Tommy Ramply: Farm Operations Manager

Tommy Rampley grew up on a large row crop and commercial cattle farm in White, Georgia.  He attended Cassville High School.  After several career changes he returned back to farming at Oakdale Farms.  He also has a great knowledge of the beef sales industry due to his father being a meat salesman.  Tommy is a Master Cattleman, is Quality Beef Assured and has taken many Extension classes on both Beef and Forage production.
